Frequently Asked Questions
This section is for you to understand the terms and conditions of using the Therapy &Wellbeing Centre and to understand more about what we offer
How does the Centre work?
The Therapy & Wellbeing Centre brings a wide range of independent therapists and practitioners together in one welcoming, professional location in Scunthorpe.
Simply browse our Therapists and Practitioners page to see who is available, the services they offer, their areas of expertise and their available appointments. You can then choose the person and approach that feels right for you.
Our practitioners offer counselling, couples counselling, hypnotherapy, CBT, EMDR, children’s therapies, physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, aesthetics and other health and wellbeing services, with appointments available at a range of times and dates.
The Centre provides the comfortable, private rooms in which practitioners see their clients and helps people discover the services available. Each therapist or practitioner is an independent professional, responsible for the treatment or service they provide and operating under their own professional terms and conditions.
This means you benefit from greater choice, one convenient location and the freedom to find the right person for the right reason, while receiving private and personal attention in a welcoming environment without judgement.
I think this is clearer for customers than leading with the contractual disclaimer—the independence point is still there, but it explains why the Centre model benefits them.
Do the Therapists and Practitioners work for The Centre?
All therapists and practitioners working from The Therapy & Wellbeing Centre are independent professionals and operate under their own terms and conditions. The Centre provides and lets the space from which they work and may advertise their services. Any treatment, therapy or service you choose to receive is agreed directly between you and the individual therapist or practitioner, and any contract for those services is between you and them.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you may need will vary depending on the therapist or practitioner, the type of support you are looking for and your individual needs. This will usually be discussed with you at your first session, so you can agree an approach that feels right for you.
If you would like more information before booking, you can submit an enquiry through our Home Page. We can then provide more specific information or help direct you towards the most appropriate therapist or practitioner.
If you want, I can also fold this straight into the full “How does the Centre work?” section.
How long are the sessions
Most therapy and practitioner sessions are 50 minutes long, unless a different session length has been agreed directly with your therapist or practitioner.
For hypnotherapy, the initial consultation may last up to 90 minutes, allowing additional time to discuss what you would like help with, your goals and the most appropriate approach before treatment begins.
What is expected from me?
Therapy works best when you and your therapist work together. As a client, you are simply asked to attend your sessions as agreed, be as open as you feel able to be, and take an active part in the process. There is no expectation that you share anything before you are ready, and your therapist will work at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
You may be encouraged to reflect between sessions or try particular exercises or techniques, depending on the type of therapy you are receiving. Being honest about what is or is not working for you can also help your therapist tailor their approach.
Please respect agreed appointment times and your therapist’s cancellation and payment terms. As each therapist or practitioner at the Centre works independently, their individual terms may differ and will be explained to you.
Most importantly, therapy is your space, your time and your opportunity to focus on you.
What is the cancellation and amendment policy?
Appointments booked through the Centre can be cancelled or amended up to 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time.
Once you begin working directly with a therapist or practitioner, they may have their own cancellation, amendment and payment policy. This may differ from the Centre’s booking arrangements and will be explained to you by your therapist or practitioner, usually during your first session.
We recommend making sure you understand these arrangements at the start of your therapy or treatment, as any future appointments will be subject to the individual practitioner’s terms and conditions.
What are the prices of the sessions?
Prices vary between therapists and practitioners depending on the service or treatment provided. The cost of each session is clearly displayed within the individual therapist or practitioner’s profile and booking information, so you can review the price before making an appointment.
Any additional costs or different session arrangements will be discussed with you directly by your therapist or practitioner.
What is your Client privacy policy?
